Folky Cards

I love folky themes :) A while ago I bought some nice Polish folky style papers from GoScrap. Now it's  time to show what cards I made using them. I used some stamps from Noolibird, GoScrap, Stempell & Kartoon and Hero Arts as well as Woodware and Martha Stewart punches.
I really enjoyed composing those cards. Stamping with various inks and coordinating colours and designs was fun too! The folky motif that dominates in the cards is, naturally, a cockerel.

The folky papers from GoScrap are so nice that I didn't want to cover them with too many embellishments.
They are just decorative on their own. Blue and green colour combination is something I wanted to have a go at. I think I will make more cards in those shades. Gingham heart stamps (from Stempell & Kartoon) are one of my favourites.

Here, below I used some lovely stamps from GoScrap - in form of typical Polish paper cut-out flowers - the motifs you often see in Eastern Europe. They have been coloured with Promarkers. I think the card blank scallop adds even more folky flair to them.

Red, blue, white - Scandinavian combination of colours merged with some Polish folksy motifs. The cockerel paper strips cut out from the sheets of paper are just perfect to use on long narrow tent cards. Martha Stewart's lacy punch seems to be ideal for this theme too.

And why not use some adhesive folky ribbons either? :)

All cards together:

More folky cards on their way :) Keep in touch.  Hope you all have a good relaxing weekend.

Edit: Linking up to Hand-made Monday tonight. Do join in. It's fun! :)

    1. ha! you're the 1st person who expressed their interest in obscure cards sentiments :) they are written in polish. "dla ciebie" = for you and "jest pięknie" = it's beautiful / it's great :)
i always make cards in both languages :)
      thanks for asking x
