This week is the week leading to a summer fair in Wrexham I'm going to participate in. For the past few days I've been sewing nothing else but these: Cheeky Chickens - funky beanbag poultry, embroidered by hand and machine, with all sorts of buttons, felt, beads and crochet flowers. I thought some chicks in bold sunny colours could bring some positive vibes into people's kitchens. I have a kinda feeling they may be a popular buy at the fair :)
I wanted to take my chicks outside to photograph them in the grass with some nature in the background but the weather sucks really bad today so we had a bit of a photo session on the window sill with the rain droplets on the glass :) Maybe later on, during the week I'll manage to get a sunny photo of my poultry :)
and some chicken features:

What great chickens - love the way they are looking longingly out of the window, just wanting to get out into the garden for a good scratch around in the sunshine!! They will be a hit at the Fair I reckon...Nancy
ReplyDeleteLove the brightly coloured chickens, I had the same problem as Carolee Crafts when I first tried 'bean bag' gifts.
ReplyDeleteThey will do really well at your fair I'm sure.

ReplyDeleteThese are adorable! They look so cute all together.
ReplyDeleteI really love the chickens, a lot more seeing the photos than I would have if someone just said, oh, I'm making chickens! haha They're very cute. And I actually LOVE the photo of the bunch of them with the rainy window in the back. Very artsy. Seriously. Of course, artsy photos is what I do. You should do a series of chickens in various places... :)
ReplyDeleteYour chickens are gorgeous, I'm sure they will fly off your stall at the fair.
ReplyDeleteI just love these chucks! Each one has real personality - I'd spend ages choosing one. Hope you do well at the fair. I see it was raining - no wonder they didn't want to go out!
ReplyDeleteThe chickens seemed to all be talking at once! Great fun, sure to attract lots of attention.
ReplyDeleteWondering how your craft show went? I have one on Monday and am hoping to do good with the owls.

Hi. In my metric conversion the fabric is cut at about 4.33 x7.78. What size do these little cuties end up being? Thank you, Debra
ReplyDeleteAfter sewing up mine are about 9-10 cm tall and wide. I cut a rectangle that measures 22cm wide (2x 11 cm) and 11 cm in height allowing 1 cm excess to sew up.
DeleteWhat size are these? How tall are they? They look so tiny and cute. About an inch tall.
ReplyDeleteno, they are about 9-1o cm tall
Deletean inch would be too small and too fiddly to sew and fill up with beans
i love your chicken army!!
ReplyDeleteThe tutorial does not seem to be available anymore. Could you provide some instruction? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI love them!
