Nordic Julekuler: "Eight-Petal Rose" (6/55) and "Mitten" (7/55)

Recently I have turned into a real knitted balls factory :) having fun and knitting my evenings away. Here are my new 2 Nordic balls:

"Eight-Petal Rose" (6/55) - a widely recognized Scandinavian motif in all sorts of knitwear

and...

 "Mitten" (7/55)

With the 7th ball I have finally achieved a perfect round shape! Yay! Just compare these two:

and all my Julekuler I've knitted so far:

In the meantime a new ball is being knitted :)

Also I'd like to thank Mich for awarding me with a blog award

It's pleasure to receive this one! x x x

Tonight I'm joining Hand-made Monday. It's the 64th episode today and pop over to see what crafty creations have been put in the linky gallery.

Retirement cards

Hi. Back online again. Haven't been very good with updating my blog recently. Somehow I fancy crafting but not necessarily blogging and archiving. Today I've decided to put on some new pics for you to have a peek.
Just before Easter I offered to make some retirement cards for a colleague. One was a rather "fancy" card to hand in, which everybody at work signed with their wishes and names.

The second card was more of a joke and mostly constructed at the workplace. We love to give each other joke cards :)

Hope the cards were well received :)

3 Cross Stitched Easter Cards

Easter time has been a bit rush-rush for me. Time flies really fast. Can't believe it April already!! I've planned a lot, I have made NOT a lot though. Not at least as much as I wanted. Never mind. What's not going to be ready by Easter will be finished over the next few weeks and will have to wait for the next spring :)
Just managed to finish off stitching and mounting the 3 cross stitch cards. This little yellow chick has been my little UnFinishedObject from the last year and has waited all year round to be mounted on a card.Thought the blue gingham background would go well with yellow fluffy cutie :)

3 Bunny butts in blue :) Have seen this cross stitch motif a few times on some blogs. Seems like it's popular. Fast and easy to stitch and largely enjoyable :)

And a fresh green one with a sampler-like cross stitch. Really enjoyed stitching those miniature sampler elements.

I like to stamp my cards inside, do you? I think it's nice if the inside of a card is decorated with some images. I like to use my hand writing too (ideally in a traditional pen ink), it makes your card more personal although I do admit that printed text gives you a neat finish.

and the card trio all 3 together :)

Currently I've been also working on a series of 4 cross stitched cards but I already know I won't be able to finish them for this festive season. Their stitching area is considerably larger than the one of an average cross stitch motif but the characters in this projects are so nice that I decided to start them off nonetheless.

And in the meantime another woolly Nordic ball is beginning to show up:

Today I've joined up Hand-made Monday at Wendy's blog. Heading over there now to take a tour round the blogs to have a look at some nice crafty stuff :)
